Thanks for visiting my website. My name is Tim Soman (a.k.a. the Tiki Smith). I was born and

raised in Los Angeles County, where I still live today with my wife of over 10 years. I started seriously studying art at the

Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. where I graduated way back in 1991 with a B.F.A. in Illustration.

After that, I started work in the Animation industry, working on different projects, shows

and movies for companies like Disney, Dreamworks and Warner Brothers.

I have been working with metal for Several years now, starting with arc welding, and advancing into blacksmithing,

plasma cutting and even some bronze casting. The medium allows me to express my fondness for the tiki culture

in ways that only metal can allow. Please check in my site from time to time as I push to include other mediums and

materials into further explorations of my personal approach to polynesian design.
